ONE BOY`S WAR
First published in 2001, this is a 570 page novel of World War 2. The
first person narrative depicts life in southwest Hampshire as it
affected a lad of the times throughout that traumatic conflict, and
although not autobiographical does draw heavily upon the author`s
experience. Into the story is woven the long and arduous conflict that
every boy must undergo to sever the bonds of childhood before he can
emerge into the world of men.
Review comments include:
“-----brings the times vividly into sharp relief, a fascinating
insight into every aspect of life in the New Forest. Spellbinding, an
extraordinary book, filled with colloquial dialogue and dramatic action,
the sort you can`t put down”…….New Forest Post
“An enormous tribute to your talent.”……. Ian Wooldridge,
Daily Mail.
“Fully fledged novelist.” ……BournemouthDaily Echo.
“German bombings, village weddings, illicit romances, family
intrigue, shame and celebration all written in a down to earth
manner.” …..New Milton Advertiser and Lymington Times
